I just click on this to see if I could purchase wine at the DC location because *wine* is what is important, not who lives in a better location.

This- it's in the hood so before I cross the park I'd like to hear what it's like.
Well, it's in a crappy place (thank goodness-- it's almost the worst of the big boxes and would be incompatible with appropriate urban land use), but my goodness, lady... the park hasn't been THE LINE in over a decade!! If you're one of THOSE UpperNWesties, grab your fleece have a look at the parts of DC that aren't pretending to be Maryland. (The new Costco won't count, since it's in the area that pretends to be PG County.

Hopefully that's just because it's the first weekend that it's been open. Should die down soon...
I hope so. We gave up and left.
I dunno ... Isn't the foggy bottom trader joes still insane on the weekends? This may be like anything else slightly good in dc - so crowded as to be useless.[/quote]
Not so bad since the West End Whole Foods opened... and besides, we're getting another one on 14th Street soon.

I hope you don't work in DC, or your husband. Or visit our museums. Or eat in restaurants. I hate when it's full of VA and MD folk!
+1. She totally deserved that. And FWIW, we DC folks are glad that we finally don't have to go to the suburbs to shop for much any more. That's the only reason I went to NoVa in the first place.
I go to the museums but that's about it. I try and avoid DC as much as possible.

I'm wishing for a commuter tax on the suburbanites.
Now why would you want that? Wouldn't that encourage businesses to take their business to VA or MD?

Although, one could argue that DC is better because you can buy wine at Costco...just saying.
