So OP ....reading between the lines....you should hook up at their place. You can leave after you are done and no over night guess problem!

It is great when they stay only two nights. Anything longer and I get annoyed.

I think that people's home is either dirty or a hoarder's nightmare and that is the reason that they cannot host overnight guests.

We love having guests even in our previous small 2000 sf house. The trick is to have a seperate guest room and bath on a different level. In our current house we have 3x the amount of space and another level separating the bedrooms and the basement guest suite.

Who is staying with you? How are they getting in? If you hate it so much, just refuse them!

This is part of why our family of 4 still lives in a small 2bedroom- no family staying over!! (but single friends can crash in the sofa!)

I don't understand what this issue has to do with being an introvert or an extrovert. I'm more on the extro side, but I don't particularly like people in my space for long periods of time, either. Of course, I guess it depends some on who those people are.

I hate having overnight guests and hate (perhaps even more) feeling pressured to stay in someone else's home. Honestly, I'd prefer to never entertain at all. Why can't we all just go out for a nice dinner together or do a play date at a park somewhere?

I love when people come to my house. Its usually friends and family that are passing through DC or coming here as tourists. I do need some advance warning (because with 2 kids, my house is not ship shape), so I can clean and cook, and host them.

I feel very grateful that my house is a lucky house which has attracted so many of my friends and relatives and they have visited us.

I also love when kids friends come over for sleep-overs and parties. I have watched how these kids have grown over the years, and it makes me feel happy to know that my kids have made friends with some really wonderful kids.

How are they bursting into your space overnight? You are either inviting them or saying yes when they ask about staying with you. I agree with the others - this isn't introversion, it is self-centeredness. You don't sound like someone anyone would enjoy being around, so I am surprised they want to stay with you.
