JD used to be so mean to Chili Amar - he was almost seething when speaking to/at her.

I, too, realized immediately that Bert was Jack's old sidekick. I remember when he left thinking how he'd never make it. Funny how he is replacing Jack - sweet revenge!

Does anyone remember how much Don and Mike hated JD? they used to call out his phoniness all the time.

Bert was Jack's cohost for years. Am I the only one who remembers that?

I bounce between stations in the morning, usually due to annoyance at the stupidity of the morning shows. I can't wait to get a new car with satellite radio.

I am shocked at how bad the Bert show has been. I really want them to succeed, but ugh. It is awful. All of them fake-laughing at themselves. I can't figure out what is funny. This morning they were cracking up about how cold the studio was. The only thing worse is the Kane show. My theory, and I hope I am right, is that they pretend to be that stupid and immature. I think it is time for NPR... Even 97.1 is better. At least Chili is there now.

WP reported a few weeks ago that they dumped Jack on a Friday after the show and were planning to replace him with an Atlanta show done by Burt Weiss (?) who was Jack's sidekick 10 years ago... in one of life's sweet ironies.

I kind of feel sorry for the Bert Show. They are replacing someone that was here a long time and are being compared to JD, as such a lot of people will automatically dislike this new show. I predict the Bert Show will not last long and who ever will replace them (and who would be compared to the Bert Show rather than JD) will be successful.

Jack was notorious for being a jerk to the other co hosts. A huge ego and not very good at any type of compromise. He brought a lot of money to the station w his commercials. But demanded a high salary.

They offered him a send off and he refused.

Same here. Used to listen way back when and he was OK. Moved out of the country for 10 years, come back and he's still on but didn't quite like his personality any more.

What happened to Sarah and Samy on 99.5? I used to listen to them on occasion when I was working... Mostly, Elliott. I didn't mind Sarah much but Samy seemed really lucky that job panned out for him... Where'd they go?

The Facebook page for Mix 107.3 is hilarious! Apparently everyone hates the new show, but the response from the station is pretty much crickets.

Over and over again. I used to listen to JD while riding the bus to school back in the early 90s, but I'm guessing I would not have enjoyed it had I ever tuned in as an adult. Even if he sucked, it seems like he at least had a lot of loyal fans. After 22 years, they probably should have had a real send-off to keep listeners happy.

I was flipping stations today and realized it was not jack, but I didn't realize it was a show from Atlanta. Whoever they were, they sucked.
