Or consider Amber of 16 & Pregnant/Teen Mom "fame." Poor 17-year-old in Bumfuck Indiana, in a relationship with a poor 21-year-old who does not want to wear condoms. They have a baby which neither of them want, she drops out of high school and can't even get her GED, goes on welfare because she can't get a job that pays enough for childcare, is arrested on domestic abuse charges, turns to drugs and is now sentenced to five years in prison for a probation violation. Baby's father is now raising the child, and they will soon be back on assistance since he is dropping all the money from the show on strippers and such.

I would rather pay for poor teenaged girls to be on birth control, so they don't have to trust douchebag teenage males who wont face the consequences of not wearing condoms themselves. Unplanned pregnancies, which either result in the choice to have an abortion or unwanted children whom taxpayers will be supporting forever.

As for my birth control, if it's offered by my insurance plan and paid for by my premiums and my company's contribution, you and your wallet have nothing to do with it. Just like any other medication.

Blood pressure medicine isn't free. Diabetes medicine isn't free. Glaucoma treatments are free. Cancer treatments are free. However, birth control is supposed to be free? It is a drug like any other drug and should be treated the same.


They sure as heck are free for low income people on medicaid, which is precisely the population studied and who I advocate giving free bc to.

Blood pressure medicine isn't free. Diabetes medicine isn't free. Glaucoma treatments are free. Cancer treatments are free. However, birth control is supposed to be free? It is a drug like any other drug and should be treated the same.
