For the past two mornings, I have gone into my finished basement workout room to workout, and found my handweights neatly stacked on the steps of my elliptical machine. On each of the two steps there was a 35 lbs weight, a 10 lb weight, 8 lb weight, 5 lb weight, and a 3 lb weight. Yesterday they were stacked with the largest on the bottom, going up to the smallest at the top--exactly the same on both steps. This morning they were stacked in a different pattern, with some off to one side, and they were exact mirror images of each other.

It was crazy, it reminded me of that scene from Poltergeist where the kitchen chairs stack on the table.

It seemed like something my 6 year old would do, but I didn't think he could lift those 35 lb weights and carry them all the way to the elliptical (they are usually on opposite sides of the room). Turns out it was my 8 year old...crazy kid!

But it was annoying because before I could workout, I had to disassemble these free weight towers and put them all back in their right place.

In-laws booked trip to come see us, leaving on the 6th of November when I was supposed to be an election judge. Will have to cancel because DH has to take them to the airport that day and can't take the kids with him since they don't all fit in the car with the gigantic amount of luggage they bring for their 17 day stay. Hiring a babysitter while he's at Dulles during rush hour and I'm without cell phone contact does not sound like a good idea to me in case of emergency, and we have no family close by.

I was so looking forward to being a judge, but of course how is he supposed to remember that election day is the 6th since he can't vote, he says.

Crap.

My annoying neighbor wants to paint her house this weekend, and I am having a huge BBQ. The fumes are going to ruin everything.

I spend time thinking about which school (in a stellar public school system) my child will attend and what exactly their curriculum will be.

I have a LivingSocial voucher for housecleaning, and called to make an appointment. They scheduled me for mid-December, almost three months away.

Annoying.

We had two events in the last month where we had friends who were going to watch our kids so that both of us could go to the event. *BOTH* of them, the friends got very sick 48 hours before and cancelled on us. We were not able to find sitters that we know in under 48 hours and had to switch off and only one of us could go to each event.
