There's no need for outrage. People are understandably concerned about the incident. Would you feel better if no one cared? If someone dies unexpectedly it is natural for people in the community to want to know and understand what happened. If all people know is that a child has died in a local daycare, they WILL want details, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. This sort of thing should not be covered up; THAT would be dysfunctional.

I would feel better if people had compassion and expressed that, instead of getting up in arms about not knowing the name of the center. I would feel better if people didn't use someone elses tragedy as a way to draw attention to themselves - "But I am a mom and I need to know for my baby!" No, you need to express condolences, then sit down and shut up. So no one cares at all. They just want to be dramatic, nosy, and make themselves feel better "so glad it wasn't me". Redo the thread- this time express sympathy for the family while maintaining their privacy and maybe I won't be so outraged.

OK lady...since we have no details, how the hell do you know the family wants to be private. Maybe, they want to be public to prevent something like that from happening to anyone else. Lots of grieving families do that. I can't believe I'm actually engaging you again, but you really need to calm down. Not everyone is as evil as you think we are and we certainly have a right to know.

Drawing attention to themselves? I don't see anyone doing that nor do I see anyone saying 'so glad it wasn't me'. Everyone has been pretty respectful thus far. It seems like you're overly worked up over this thread for some reason.

Because this thread is cold and heartless. Most people wouldn't want anyone discussing their child on the internet if they farted in public or something. So to be so cold and careless about someones tragedy disgusts me. No one is asking out of concern for anything but themselves. It's vile.

Someone's child has died. And your child could too- especially since you vaccinate them to high heavens and then leave them in their cribs alone to scream for hours. So there's no need to make yourself feel better like you are a "good and diligent parent" by being nosy about someone elses affairs. The name of the center will come out eventually, but it's still irrelevant. Have some fucking respect and compassion for others.

New poster here: What are you talking about? I'm not trying to be snotty but I think you are overreacting. People are just curious and scared. I doubt anyone is deriving some kind of morbid glee from this event. It's an awful tragedy and I think many are concerned about the how and why it occurred. A PP poster has now told us. And now many of us feel a need to express our deep sympathies.

I'm still baffled why it is disrespectful to the family involved for others to want to know where this awful tragedy took place. The PP who keeps insisting that anyone who asks is ghoulish and cruel to ask still cannot explain why that would be the case. It is not being "nosy about someone else's affairs" - it is being concerned for the well-being of our children who are in daycare.

And no one here has been cold or heartless. Almost every single PP has expressed sorrow about in some fashion. Not a single person has written anything that could ever be interpreted in a fashion as negative toward anyone involved with this incident. Except for the PP who is outraged and telling anyone who would like information about this horrible tragedy that they should "stop counting your money and pay attention to your kids." That's really outrageous, and you should be ashamed of yourself. I do worry about my child, and that's why I want as much information about his daycare and any other daycare that I might want to send him to know to be public.
