Obama got elected and he kept that promise. He took the war to Pakistan. He sent in drones, he sent in spies. He found the guy and instead of working out a joint exercise with Pakistan that would be blown by all of the rats in their ranks, he went into an ally without permission and executed an extraction.
Obama killed Bin Laden because he promised to do it, because the Republicans refused to do it, and yet Obama followed through.

I'm pretty dove-ish, in general, but the murder of diplomatic personnel seems to call for something stronger than a verbal condemnation, no matter how "strong". There are lines that must not be crossed. Killing an ambassador? That's a big one.
