True, but that is a tiny bar to climb over. I think George W Bush will go down in history as possibly the worst president of all time. However, I am afraid that Obama will not end up being regarded as much better. He extended Bush's tax cuts. he doubled down on the war in Afghanistan ( it is a bigger mess and far more dangerous for US soldiers now), he established a policy of killing US citizens without due process, the deficit is hugely out of control... I could go on. The bottom line is the past 12 years has been arguably led by two of the worst President's in history. Very depressing.
Hm. While you may be disgruntled with Obama and Bush, I'm not sure that "history" will remember them as you do. For a sampling, this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States
compiles the rankings from a fairly large number of scholarly references. While GWB was definitely in the bottom quartile, there were several Presidents that were uniformly considered worse including Harding, Grant, Buchanon, Pierce, and Fillmore. And Obama is ranked in the second quartile, not the best, but still above average. Granted there are far fewer references for Obama (only 2 of the 17 included Obama in their rankings). You are correct that GWB will be remember as one of the worst Presidents in history, but Obama is likely to be remembered as an average President, not one of the worst in history.
