How does one tip the Peapod delivery guy? Can you add a tip when your done with your order and paying online? I don't remember seeing it when I checked out before. Do I have to make sure I have cash on hand to tip the Peapod guy when he comes?

+1 and it has been there for at least a year.
If it's there, it's not real obvious.
I don't really see why I need to give the guy a tip anyway. He is just taking my groceries from the truck to my kitchen. Isn't that his job? Didn't I already pay a fairly steep delivery charge for the privilege? Maybe if he would have put my eggs on the counter out of reach from my two-year old who ended up smashing them when they were left on the floor, I might see where this extra service is coming from that merits all this preparation and additional compensation. How do you leave a tip if the deliver is unattended? Maybe that's actually the answer. I think I would be willing to take the stuff in from my front door to my kitchen to save $5.
Jesus OP.
The driver makes perhaps minimum wage. He is dependent on tips. The fact that you pay a steep delivery charge benefits him not at all. It goes to Giant.

They want cash because they want to break the law by not declaring the income on their taxes.

I am. That's why I use Peapod.
It's funny how people on this board think that since I get groceries delivered I have wads of cash laying around to tip the delivery person on top of fee. I don't . And since I get Peapod I have to sacrifice other things. I think I already pay a lot for the privilege and it could actually be that the delivery guy has more disposable income than I do.
Time saving translation: I'm cheap, I don't want to tip but I know that's not really right so I need to come with an excuse like poor service to justify my actions to the online anonymous community.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:On the piece of paper where you sign for your delivery, there is a place to add a tip.

I had a delivery guy tell me something along the lines that they don't get paid much, very much with attitude, implying I should tip him. I had planned on tipping him and did so even though he did this. He seemed a little embarrassed. I thought about calling Peapod and letting them know about him but didn't.
And this show of superiority did what, exactly, for you?
