15 days in Hawaii. We were based in Maui and then we bought island-hopper plane tickets, spent 5 days in Maui, 4 days on the Big Island, then 3 days on Oahu (we stayed in a cute B&B out in Kailua) then back to Maui for the last 3 days. We loved it. Only regret, not visiting Lanai. We should have done that instead of Oahu, but DW had never been to Hawaii and wanted to visit the USS Arizona memorial and see Waikiki Beach.
Recommendation. If you are going to Hawaii, go on shoulder season in the beginning of September. We were married in July, but still went the first 15 days of September. High season ends August 30, and prices go down a lot, but everyone is still set up for high season. The crowds are down about 75%. Everyone was saying we should have seen how packed it was last week, but everything was running and everything was discounted. We saved a ton of money and were able to do about twice what we would have been able to do just a week or two before.

We spent 7 nights in Hawaii, in Oahu and Maui. Wonderful! I've been trying to get back there ever since!

It was their honeymoon, what do you think they did!?
We did a week in Playa del Carmen (in a small hotel, not an all inclusive resort). Did a few day trips (Cozumel, Chichen Itza, and Tulum) and spent the ret of the time relaxing on the beach. We went tight after the wedding, so downtime was what we needed. Loved it enough that we went back for an anniversary trip a few years later.
