I have a close friend whose kids pretty much only wear Janie and Jack. They always look ADORABLE, and I can't help but comment on how cute they look every time I see them! I love Janie and Jack's clothes. I don't have the money though to buy them on a regular basis. I splurge sometimes when something is really adorable, but otherwise I stay away.
I wouldn't explain away why you spend a lot of money on your kid's clothes. It's no one's business what you spend. You obviously have the money to do it if that's where you're shopping, and it sucks that you feel like you have to make excuses for having the money to shop there for your kids. If I were you, I would just say "thanks" when people compliment their clothing or how cute they look. That's it. No explanation of what you bought on sale, etc. People shouldn't have to explain away why they have money -- it's not something you should feel guilty about.

Just call and ask, but I know one is usually in August. Their clothes are adorable and well-made and, if you have girls, most of their dresses are cut so that they can grow with the kid and become tunics and be worn for years.

When people comment on how much her outfits cost, I usually say: "This is none of your fucking business, but thanks for asking!"
