You can buy your way into the neighborhoods with little to no poverty - good for you...or something. Your kids will be surrounded by others as well-off as you. And the idea of meritocracy withers.
Finally, the truth comes out. You don't really like your diversity, you're rationalizing your circumstances. Your attitude is rooted in envy that I was able to buy into a neighborhood with no poverty.
Stop assigning yourself so much virtue. Seriously. It's repugnant.
