1) Yesterday while letting my DD (4) watch several episodes of Max & Ruby/Fresh Beat Band, I fell asleep. I woke up with a blanket over me. DD says "mommy I put a blanket on you because you fell asleep, are you done with your nap now? Can you make me some lunch?"
2) After letting DD run around the park all
Saturday afternoon I didnt give her a bath before we went out to dinner. I did change her clothes though.

All my toddler's clothes have stains on them. Once or twice I have actually done the whole Zout thing, gotten a stain out, and felt like Supermom, but usually I just throw the clothes in the wash and hope for the best. In fact, her clothes seem to get new stains on them in the laundry.

In related news, I let her eat in her car seat when we're in a hurry, and so often we show up places with fresh new stains on her. I also "let her" eat in her stroller while I go for runs, usually messy things like ice cream bars and strawberries, that get all over her face and clothes, and people stare at me in disapproval as I run by. (Hey! I'm running! I'm Supermom! Ignore the chocolate smeared all over my daughter's face and hands.)

"Let her" is in quotes above, because the snacks are more of a bribe. Otherwise, I have to listen to her begging to get down and walk the whole ride.

The other night we had ice cream cones for dinner. We'd had a healthy breakfast and lunch, though. It was fun!

I am not bragging about these things. But I obviously don't think they're the end of the world, either.

OP, I second your sentiment. And also wish with all my heart that there's a magic wand that will make one of my kids eats anything other than mac 'n cheese or that I don't have to spend an hour each night trying to get him to eat more than 3 spoons of food. I treat myself to a glass to wine on a good night ...

Oh please, people! Its not like a toddler is actually sitting down and watching Narnia. The one year olds I have known barely stop moving to eat, let alone sit down and enjoy a feature film.

And I don't think Trader Joe's 5 nights a week isn't awful. Depending on what the food is and what the alternative would be.

Perhaps you have issues with reading tone and intent? I read this as funny and only halfway serious. I do feel sorry for you if you are unable to laugh at yourself from time to time. Do I strive to be an awesome mom? Of course! However, I know for SURE that there are not so golden moments. So many moms are afraid to admit them that it is nice to be on an anonymous forum and know that you are not alone.

OP didn't say her kid was watching a movie. She said her 1yo was watching Narnia, which I assumed was one of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe movies, which are long and kind of scary. So I'm picturing her sitting there, drinking glasses of wine, her 3yo totally missing and her young kids watching hours of totally inappropriate TV, and I'm kind of shocked. Who is bragging? I see people stating facts "my kid is watching a movie" "I didn't put away the laundry", etc. I'm sitting on DCUM and there's 2 dirty pots sitting in the sink. I don't know if bragging was the right word, but I can't say that anyone, and especially OP, sounds all that embarrassed by them. And I've known moms who actually do say this kind of stuff almost like they're bragging about being so NOT super-mom. Like I said, I don't get it.
