OK, I am compelled to write back again. I got to thinking about this and revisited the shop this morning after almost 2 years and for kicks, ordered a glazed donut. They looked different than I remembered. Took the first bit and to my delight enjoyed it thoroughly...so next thing I've got to eat are my words!

I agree that a hot Krispy Kreme donut is pretty darn good. But as a native New Englander, Dunkin Ds has some pretty good donuts, too. Problem is that down here, the Dunkin'
Donuts are not made in the actual store - they are shipped in from a bakery somewhere and they are not fresh. Up in New England, the donuts are made fresh in the store multiple times a day which makes them a lot better.
They are made fresh at the one on Columbia Pike north of Glebe, btw. They ship to other stores.
