I like Plato's

If you like southern food style diners, Florida Avenue Grill and Wilson's in DC are great

Man, I miss the Dixie Pig.

Agree that Tastee is awful and Silver is chain dining and not a real diner.
Agree with Amphora recommendations.
In Bethesda, I like Old Georgetown Grill. It's really consistently good. No old rail car, no chrome, but the menu is traditional and the food is quick and tastes as it should. Service is spotty--sometimes I've gotten up to refill my own coffee and they've gotten the point.
And Bob & Edith's freaking rules.

Haven't tried Nick's. Have driven past it. Will have to check it out.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Nick's in Wheaton. Owned by Greek family, cash only. Voted best diner by WTOP listeners.

I grew up in Catonsville and the Double T is awesome! The menu is beyond huge and they have fantastic pies. I haven't been in ages. I must make a stop the next time I am in the old 'hood. The Bel Loc Diner in Parkville on East Joppa Rd. at the intersection with Loc Raven Blvd. is another option in the Towson area of Baltimore.

13:16 - sory for the ealr post. meant to say prefer the Diner for breakfast. And I'm pretty sure both serve Tryt coffee, and I like that The Diner serves it in traditional diner coffee mugs. Plus we like the cartoons on the TV on weekend mornings since it helps entertain the kids/let us eat.

We also visit The Diner and Open City, though prefer The Diner esp. for dinner. Am also pretty sure thy

I like Plato's OK -- not generally a fan of the Greek diners -- big fat, tasteless sausages, bland, runny eggs. Yuck.
