My DS declared he would call me Mom when he was around 6 or 7. My DD is 15 and calls me Mommy and her own derivative of Mommy which I love.

I am 47 and still and will always call my mother, Mommy.

This is what my 7 year old son is beginning to do.

Same here, although sometimes I let out a "my mama" in conversation.

Strangely, mine never called me mommy. He went right from Mama to Mum.

I called my parents Mommy and Daddy up until I moved out. I don't know why but I started calling them Mom and Dad instead, maybe it's because I spoke of them more than I spoke to them. I don't know. I do know that once I had kids of my own, and started referring referring to DH as Daddy when talking to the kids, my dad became Daddy again.

My 9 year old calls me Mama while my 10 year old calls me Mommy. I'm not sure why they gave me different titles but they did. They both call DH Daddy.

I'm 18 and my sister is 15. I still call my parents mommy and daddy with my family. I tried calling my mom "mom" once when i was 16, and I felt like I slapped her when I saw the expression on her face. So I stuck with mommy and my dad is always going to be daddy. I don't see that ever changing

My siblings still say "mommy". The oldest is 17. My step-daughters are 16 and 18...they say "mommy". My own mother called my grandmother "mommy" until her death and still refers to her as such when we talk about her. And they all call their fathers "daddy". I don't get what the big deal is. Why is there supposed to be a cut-off age?
