In an announcement marking a major victory in America's ongoing war on terror, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld declared Thursday that "major combat activity" has ended in Afghanistan. Later in the day, from aboard an aircraft carrier in the Pacific Ocean, President Bush planned to announce that military combat is over in Iraq.

I also find it interesting how they are already building his defense: 4 tours of duty, head injury on one of those tours.

No, this is when America got punk'd. Can anyone explain to me how they could mistakenly think the war was over? What did he say later, "oops my bad?" Nope, he used that one when they didn't find WMD.
Sorry dude, but Bush accidentally invaded the wrong country, then he accidentally declared the war over about eight years too early.
Bush won Iraq.

I read today that the soldier was removed from Afghanistan. I am also baffled by the failure to identify him. I'm even more baffled that nobody in the media seems to be curious about that omission. I think it's gone on long enough to get us into conspiracy theory territory. Perhaps he comes from a well-known family or maybe the Internet is filled with his incoherent rantings about his desire to go house to house killing people? Eventually the will have to identify him, won't they? So, what are they waiting for?

We rallied and tried to fight against the awful wars, but nobody listened. Maybe people will now listen when we say that we should leave Afghanistan. Its not like we are going to be doing anything good for the country at this point, as this event shows.
