Or swim at one of the many public pools. My DD swims for a team based out of a public pool. Best decision we ever made. The families and kids are incredibly nice.

Get your own pool and then you don't have to deal with the snobs and the social one-upmanship. That is what we did and have never regretted the decision.

Our school has country club cliques and it isn't the Cathedral schools. The cliques are a very strong presence. We aren't members, could be if we wanted to be but aren't. Our neighborhood pool is quite small. We will likely move in the near future and I would honestly consider buying a house with a pool or building one, just to avoid the country club.

PP again...I think to a certain extent parents need to be indoctrinated (or some may say brainwashed) into the give, give and don't question mentality to keep the staus quo. Private schools need their money to keep functioning.

The problem is many years ago with co-op type private schools you paid a very reasonable tuition that was a much smaller percentage of salary and you expected to get your hands dirty and were happy to donate a little extra. Now, you are expected to do all of the same, but pay a much higher percentage of at least the average high income.

Are you serious? Did you inherit millions or something? When people spend this much money-hard earned money-it is normal to evaluate and re-evaluate whether it is worth it.
