Given the violence, I always wondered whether the killer had some (undiagnosed?) mental health diagnosis or had been taking drugs, but we never heard this. Sometimes I still wonder how a person can commit a crime like that.
I wish the corporate office had closed that retail location, too.

NP here, not from old thread. It is amazing how truly naive some people are. You can be a bleeding democrat and still know the truth, PP, it's okay. What rock do you live under? Have you ever been in Jayna's shoes? Have you ever been the victim of a hate crime by someone that looks nothing like you, is a different race, and hates you for no reason other than how you look? Probably not. But go ahead in your own little world, you seem to like it there. And I suppose you think OJ didn't do it, either.
I don't think Norwood killed Murray just b/c she was black and her victim was white. They were coworkers... I'm sure there were myriad reasons for them to not like each other. Haven't you ever loathed one of your colleagues? The difference is most people are able to regulate their emotions and not go berserk on the person they hate. Norwood clearly lost it.
She killed her b/c she was caught stealing. Honestly, does no one read the paper?
Also there is bias in news coverage--think Lacey peterson, callee Anthony, natalee holloway...it's more likely for a white person's murder to pick up press.

They must have not got along for a long time. The intensity and overkill shows that it was really personal. Angry, hateful people are time bombs waiting to explode.
No, Norwood was caught stealing from the store and knew the victim was going to turn her in, so she lured her back to the store saying she forgot her purse or something then attacked her. She was trying to make it look like a robbery, but it was definitely premeditated b/c she tried to dump the victim's car and brought plastic zip ties to tie up her hand's as well as the woman she murdered.
Was the intent to kill her? In that location without attracting attention? She thought murder was better than getting fired for petty theft?
