It isn't his responsibility to keep his wife dieting, and if he suggested that she need to eat better he would be pilloried on this forum.
When my now DH and I moved in together, he stopped keeping massive amounts of candy around. He knows I have a major sweet tooth and that I try to be healthy, and he took it upon himself to be supportive of that. In general, he now keeps those types of snacks at work, but I think mostly, he has just cut back on them.
Is it his "responsibility to keep me dieting"? Well, no. It's nice that he took it upon himself to be supportive of it, though. I would do the same for him in a heartbeat. I'm surprised so many people are jumping on the "it's not his problem" bandwagon.
What does "keep me dieting" mean? If you need to keep dieting, then it is your problem and not his.
