Well, because People's Republic of Maryland isn't for everyone. Keep your high taxes and schools-getting-ruined to yourselves.

Yes, and FCPS is thriving. Do they put something in the water that people cannot see how much FCPS has degraded even in the last 10 years?

SATs in FCPS are up and there were a record number of NMSFs last year. Meanwhile SATs in MCPS dropped over 25 points last year and Starr was forced out. Meanwhile APS has no clue where kids will go to school in five years. FCPS looks very good these days.
This. This. This! Even after that budget debacle, I'd still take FCPS any day.

Yeah, what's a $75m budget deficit? Chump change.

That "deficit" was eliminated. Come back when MCPS has raised its scores and APS has built 5,000 more seats. Until then, GF residents will enjoy a renovated Langley, with top scores and added capacity.

Where do you live and what sort of house is it? Sorry if having nice houses on larger lots is offensive.

+1

BAM! NICE!

Cons: Isolated, septic tanks, commute to/from downtown DC can be long during rush hour.

I would prefer upper McLean, but Great Falls is a fantastic place to live. You have to take the pros with the cons of being a little further out.
McLean's downtown seemed impersonal. No character. Are there community events- Halloween Parade, Easter Egg hunts, etc... Doesn't seem homey to me. I'd rather more rural, more community.

Nicer people in GF, too.

Case in point.

Of course it does. Who else can afford to live there? It is not a starter house community.

parks great no more...full of illegals! Evey try to visit River Bend Park lately?
What's going on with River Bend Park?

Nothing.

My house backs up to it. We walk through it all the time - absolutely nothing is wrong with it.
