LBJ pulled out after a stronger than expected vote for Eugene McCarthy's challenge to LBJ on NH, as I recall. With no Democrats challenging Obama, I don't see how he could pull out.

BTW, I am also disappointed in Obama, but rather than a tool of the left, he looks to me to have caved in to the right. Strange how perceptions differ!

Making things as bad as possible, in the hope it sticks to Obama, is the avowed GOP strategy:

Please show me the evidence in these numbers where Obama has shrunken the federal govt.

he has no control over state or municipal shrinkage. That is up to the individual states, counties, cities etc.

When has there *EVER* been regulatory certainty?

And why didn't employers respond to the Bush tax cuts and regulation cuts by increasing private employment?

There was actually a net DECREASE in private employment under Bush II; the gains of the 2000s were made in ... wait for it ... GOVERNMENT.

Obama has overseen the largest shrinkage in government (federal + state + municipal) employment in decades, folks. Private sector employment is increasing at the best clip in years.
