ok, miss know-it-all, I usually actually cook and bake from scratch, not rely on prepackaged stuff. What I didn't know is whether you can actually roll that stuff out or whether the consistency would change from too much kneading. Go back to your cream of mushroom soup casseroles - if you knew anything about real baking you'd know that working dough not meant to be worked is actually problematic. Ask me when you have a real cooking question. Thanks to the other responders.

You do need a work a little flour into the dough. It has directions on the package.

Anonymous wrote:The Pillsbury dough tube actually has separate directions for rolling the dough -- I think you add some flour to make it workable. Not the greatest tasting but once the kids top it with frosting, no one will be able to tell the difference or care for that matter!

we tried this last year and it was a huge fail, the dough was super sticky and then we had to add so much flour the cookies tasted awful.

We ended up going back to our tried and true - cutting circles than cutting the circles into shapes to make an angel, santa face, and wreath and then did a couple candy canes. Very old school.

Most people born, raised or live in this country know about store bought cookie dough. You just wanted everyone to think you were so perfect that you never even contemplated such a notion. And your comment above proves it. Why on earth would pillsbury dough not be meant to be worked?

Who attacked whom?! You're condescending reply wasn't worth anyone's time to read. Why does her competence bother you so badly?! Showing your back-side being immature and insecure impresses no one. I don't care if you feel empowered by your actions/posts - keep that $#*! to yourself. If you can't be helpful - SHUT UP!!!

Original poster - just keep on keeping on! We can log off and be done with it - but everywhere 'they' go there 'they' are!

just saying...

You revived a two year old thread just to write this drivel?

Weirdo. At best.

Well, you responded so obviously haven't matured any. And wow, such a quick response. What, no life? I'm baking. What the f are you doing? Your attempt at insults and bad advice, and its a stretch for me to call it that, show your ignorance. They don't stick. She and I (and other responders) must be of that small percentage, not of the "most people" you know/spoke of. You definitely have no knowledge of real, from scratch baking and obviously rely only on the premade since you are so confidently familiar with it.
Weirdo?! I'll take it!!! It's got to be much better than any description that any of us came up for you.
If only you could take advice... I'd say worry about yourself. There is plenty to work on there.

Thanks all other responders for being helpful and knowledgeable! Really you guys did answer my question.

I've squeezed about as much fun as could be had out of this.
So to you I say, Good Day!

ahahahahahaha.....

Go take your meds please.

Anonymous wrote:I slaved making several different kinds of christmas cookies last year -- including ones with fillings and all kinds of complex stuff.

By the time I got to the frosted sugar cookies i was over it. So I cheated and use the Pillsbury stuff.

Everyone raved... about the Pillsbury cookies.

lol. This made me smile.

I've actually looked for these in the past to use with a brownie troop and wasn't able to find them (other than the inedible ones sold at Michael's). Where have you seen these?

I've seen these in grocery store bakeries. They come with the tubes of frosting for decorating too.

^ did not realize this post was so old, wtf? Who bumped this?

Lord. You people can’t even discuss rolled out cookie dough without getting nasty with each other. What is wrong with society now! It’s so much easier to be nice than to be an ass. You should try it.

I sense some tension in this blog post thread. Perhaps we should all bake together, it could be therapeutic. I never made a mushroom soup casserole, but I would love to learn the recipe as we roll out the dough. I know it has been 7 years since the discussions of cookie dough, but it’s the never too late for a nice baking session. I’ll be sure to tell my butler to purchase the correct dough.
