Subject: Can my child have a Catholic baptism without godparents?
Agree with PP- while a norm it is definitely not a requirement - in Canon Law it states something like ‘insofar as possible’.
We had one Catholic and one non-Catholic as godparents to all 3 DCs and no course required but a letter of good standing by parish priest.

Look at cannon law. There is no requirement for godparents to baptize in the catholic church even though it is encouraged. I baptized my twin girls this past year without godparents or sponsors.
