To be fair to our Fox viewing friends, despite my liberal politics and advanced Ivy degree, I can't define epistemic closure. For that matter, the spell-check on here doesn't recognize it either.

Fox viewers probably don't even know what epistemic closure is. They live in the matrix, and the term does not exist there.

Liberal media didn't report Obama's smoking (and yet they did)

Liberal DCUM does not talk about Obama's popularity (and yet we have long posts about liberal dissatisfaction with Obama on the same page)

Liberals did not protest the execution of Lawrence Russell Brewer (and yet they did)

LIberals are hypocrites for not criticizing Obama's killing of the American in Yemen (and yet we did)

Then from the same poster, we have:
Bachmann is presidential.
Romney's unbeatable.
Perry is unbeatable.
Hermann Cain!

Everyone has their personal challenges, and the social ethic is normally to have compassion when someone is dealing with, say, addiction, marital troubles, ADHD, etc. Or at least to keep their mouth shut when they don't have something nice to say. But when someone is fat, the insults just fly. It seems to be the last group we unabashedly make fun of. Why is that?

Because fat people themselves don't know how to keep their "mouths shut."

And a lot of politicians don't know how to keep their pants zipped. That, too, demonstrates lack of discipline and self-control. Did that keep Bill Clinton out of the White House?
