I use PLEDGE Multisurface Cleaner in the spray bottle. Does a great job, leaves a shine and smells great.

This is what I use with a microfiber cloth and it's great. I also bought a natural spray cleaner from Marshall's that was great, but never saw it there again.

1/4 cup alcohol, 4 drops dawn and two cups cold water in a spray container . Shake well and spray away...cheap, effective, and sanitizes.

Anonymous wrote:We make our own cleaner - 1/2 cup isopropyl alcohol, couple drops of liquid dish soap and about 1.5 cups of water. I keep it in a spray bottle. I don't use it to wipe up every little thing (I mostly use a plain old wet rag) but will use the spray once a day.

This is my post and since this thread has been revived, I'll say that we continue to use this homemade spray, our granite has not been re-sealed since the original sealing and it still looks as good as the day it was installed.

If there has been no food prep, then we just use water on a wash cloth. If there has been food prep, then we use 7th generation disinfecting spray. Once a week or so we use the granite cleaner.

And we seal every 3 years instead of every year. We've had the counters for 13 years and they still look fine.

Windex, Clorox wipes, whatever. They're at least 10 years old and look just fine.

Windex. No other spray cuts grease as well. Dish soap diluted with water is even better but requires rinsing.

I use a sponge with hot water/dish detergent to wipe down the sink & counter then go over with a paper towel to dry & toss the sponge in the dish washer.

I only used that special spray at my first house, years ago.

I realized I could use pretty much anything- method spray or windex is what I use most often. I just wouldn’t use anything super harsh..

I just wipe them down with a wet dish sponge and let them air dry.

I don't have granite counters, but honestly the thought of needing a special spray for COUNTERS is the stupidest thing ever. Why is everyone paying such big money for a delicate surface in the busiest work shop in the house?! I WORK in my kitchen, I don't want to worry about etching my counters.

But I'm clearly outing myself as having laminate counters, which I do. Why would I get rid of something so functional?

+100 on just windex or whatever. The sealer on our counter tops is very strong. No sign of wear what so ever: 8 years

+1 windex same 12 years
