Is #1 a typo? It reads like you were 15 years old when you had child #1.

No. 1 was with a different father so maybe that's why it took longer to get pregnant.

Age 32, after 9 months of actively trying/charting/whole nine yards. Same stats for my sister-in-law and best friend who were the same age at conception. I post to make people feel better about not getting pregnant on the first try like it seems was the case with a large percentage of previous posters.

4 1/2 years starting at age 30. Had first baby right after turning 35. Another 2 1/4 years later. Endo., IF, Clomid, IVF, several miscarriages, more IUIs for #2, going onto IVF and got pg on own the cycle before starting IVF.

#1 -- 30yo: almost a year, metformin + Clomid is what finally worked (I have PCOS)
#2 -- 32 yo: 3 months/tries, metformin only
#3 -- 34 yo: two times without a condom, no meds, unplanned (wanted, but were going to wait a few more months before trying)
That said, definitely do not stress. I know that the one thing it is totally verboten to say to someone trying to conceive is "just relax," but honestly, my personal experience was that relaxing/not being too stressed out made a huge difference. During the year we were struggling with conceiving our first, I had a cycle of Clomid where I didn't even ovulate (after previously responding fine to a lower dose) and I believe it was because I was so upset and stressed out. After that I did a bunch of stuff to distract myself (moved to a new place, went to a bunch of concerts, read a lot of non-baby books, went to the gym a lot) and kept going with treatment on the slow track. Fortunately we didn't have to progress to anything invasive and I credit chilling out for a lot of that. Now obviously for someone with a specific fertility problem that will prevent or greatly hinder conception no matter what, not stressing isn't going to make a damn bit of difference. But stress can delay/prevent ovulation, so for others it can't hurt to be as zen as possible.
