At 8, I can't imagine a sleepover where I didn't know the kids pretty well. So, I'd know if there were allergies, or a kid who is vegan. If there aren't, then I think just whatever kind of milk you usually have. If you've got almond or soy or dairy allergies then just ask that parent what kind works for their kid and get that as a second kind.
I would worry about kids not eating dinner, but breakfast, if they just eat the dry cereal and eat more when they go home an hour or two later that's fine.
I agree that berries are nice.
