Emory mom here. I have a ton of respect for Georgetown and the kids who go there. The main things they have in common are size,ranking, location in an affluent section of a large city, affiliation with a hospital, and no engineering. Nothing to lose by doing EA at Georgetown. As for Emory, ED only if it feels like a true fit over and above other potential options. For some kids, it’s important to them to feel like they have some control over their choices- don’t ED if that’s the case.

Know who you're dealing with: Emory mom. She won't stop putting down schools ranked slightly ahead of Emory. Often times she attacks WashU. Today it's Georgetown's turn. When it comes to numbers that have yet to be announced, she always assumes the best case scenario for Emory. It's like clockwork.

No 32% was last cycle, this cycle isnt reported yet, it likely likely be around 25% from what I've heard thus far from admissions. And 37% was 2 years ago.

Emory will be a bit harder, higher test scores and lower acceptance rate unless you ED1 but not sure if its your first choice.

In my kid’s application cycle, I looked at the Naviance plots. There was a green dot for Georgetown with GPA 2.7. So you know, how many high stats kid they need to raise the average.
