I think CRE vacancies are still around 20-25% in DC. I go against biglaw people in my job and whenever we have zoom calls, they all are quite clearly at their houses. I don’t think Feds alone can save CRE.


We just cancelled our commercial lease to cram into an ancient federal building. That does not help CR.

Exactly. People WAY overestimate management’s ability (or willingness) to detect violations or meaningfully discipline anyone even if violations are detected. But I guess that’s what makes the “system” work.

Article today about staff playing golf during core work hours. They got a mere suspension. Big deal.
