Mid 50s female, financially just fine on my own work, no children. COVID was a hard time to go through this part of my life, but it drew me closer to an old friend a year younger than me. We are both set in our ways but love each other dearly, and we spend time together every day. That is a joy. He is a good man.

I have friends in the 40s-60s that are both male and female, both married and not. Some are playing the field and having a good time, but they are who they are. If I were single, that would not be a romantic draw for me anyway.

I think at this age, and with some resources, the world is more open for a woman. Can you get laid on a fairly regular basis? Sure, and from a wider range of ages than I'd expect. But there are a thousand things the world has to give you. If it's someone worth it, then it is worth it to give up some freedom for investment of your time and energy. (And I do find it so, with mine.)

But who needs a man who isn't interesting, but who will assume you will take care of him if he goes south unexpectedly? There is nothing attractive about that, hair or not.

Find someone who is very much into you. When I met my boyfriend for the first time, chemistry was so obvious and intense. When I come visit him, we often times end up in the bedroom a minute after I entered the door. If we plan to drive somewhere from his home, he asks me to call/text him when I arrive and wait for him outside - because if I enter the house, we can’t go anywhere for two hours. We are mid to late 40s.
