WASHINGTON — The man wanted for throwing a keg through the front window of a local bakery is in police custody. Charles Joseph Ali, 28, of Rockville, was arrested on Thursday.
Officials with MPD confirmed the arrest. Ali is accused of being the man caught on camera in the early Monday morning hours, throwing an empty keg through Georgetown Cupcake on M Street.
He is being charged with Destruction of Property, a felony offense.
On Tuesday, MPD reported that Ali could be the same suspect who was wanted for vandalizing another storefront along M Street back in April. According to a police report, on April 24, at 4:50 a.m., someone approached The Row located along the 1900 block of M Street, threw the vase, smashed it into a bunch of pieces, and then ran away. MPD says officers are still investigating that offense.
