I'm 21:18 and a Gen Xer - people absolutely went with their moms or got dropped off/picked up by their moms.

Dropped off and picked up, yes. I’m talking about actually going to the concert with you. None of our parents did that. We would have been mortified.

+1 Parents started regularly chaperoning their millennial kids to concerts.

Gen Xers just went with their friends or older siblings. We experienced true freedom in our youth!

Yeah sorry, I did. My first concerts were the The Four Tops with the Temptations and Neil Diamond at Wolf Trap when I was in elementary school, with my parents. A little older I went to Elton John at Merriweather Post Pavilion with my mom and her friends with their kids.

Yeah, sorry. Not really regular GenX concerts. That’s soft rock.

I never went with my parents, but they were friends with a younger couple who were going to take me to see Prince for his Purple Rain tour. He ended up canceling our location, though.

I have taken my teens/tweens to concerts. We've seen Wu-Tang, Common, Nas & Damien Marley (they toured together), and Kendrick Lamar, to name a few.

My mom took me to see the Rolling Stones when I was in 8th grade (1997 or 1998) because she got tickets at the last minute and didn't have anyone else to bring. It was definitely eye opening as a sheltered preteen....lots of weed smoking in the crowd. She was permissive about some things and strict about others.

The answer is yes.

I think back to my youth and I never went to any concerts with my parents, nor did I want to. Did you?

48 and until I was old enough to drive/18 my parents always took us to concerts. I still remember my Dad taking us to see NKOTB when I was 12..
