Usually, sequels in this genre are horrible:
The Sex and the City Movie,
Bridget Jones Diary sequels
Mamma Mia
That's the competition, and The Devil Wears Prada sequel was better than any of them.
The dialogue was fine.
The casting was fine.
Was any of that excellent? No. But what sequel of a non-action movie has been better?
Also, movies lately are all action movies. This wasn't and. it was decent. Thus, perfectly adequate given expectations.

I guess it was naive to think it would be anything else though. It does not stand alone at all. A lot of it wouldn't even make sense without having seen the first one.
I was disappointed Andy was still so pathetic and needy and honestly lame. There was really zero character growth for any of them in 20 years. I can recognize though that maybe no one wants to see a movie that shows where these people would really be in 20 years.

We had fun, but were slightly bored. The sequel is not nearly as good as the original. I hated all the politically correct crap and the way Miranda changed into someone much less supremely confident and cutting. That was what made the first movie so much fun. Thumbs down.
What politically correct crap are you referring to?
DPP. The assistant, Amari, would try to prevent Miranda from saying harsh/politically insensitive words at the conference table.
