We live in North Bethesda. I commute to Tysons 3 days a week and it’s not ideal. But we’re happy in our community and have no desire to live in VA

BS. Unless you're doing it at 6am and 9pm

Once you get past Conn Ave exit, the traffic is coming the other way. I look over and see them sitting stuck trying to get into Maryland in the morning.

It’s wild how Bethesda and Tysons are literally right next to each other, and yet it’s a nightmare to get between the two during most of the day.

The really odd thing is that this was true in the 1980s and 1990s, yet there still is no plan to connect MoCo with Tysons via Metro. Metro Silver Line to Dulles makes some sense, but surely even more people would take Metro between Tysons and the Red Line…

In a reasonable civilization, we would have much better regional rail that would connect the exurbs like Bethesda and Tysons.

IKR, the "spoke" model where everything has to connect in DC just makes rail travel between suburbs prohibitive in terms of time and cost.

In your car. Either literally or figuratively.

My general rule is try to avoid commuting across any bridge.

I understand this is not always possible, for example if one works in Tysons and the other in Rockville. .

It can be easy but it really depends on where in Tysons you work. Getting on/off 66 can be time consuming depending on time of day. The back roads have a lot of traffic now too. Traffic in Tysons itself can be very slow during rush hour.
