Sometimes in the mirror I pull my face taut and I look amazing so I wish I could have an easy face life but again, I'm too scared plus I imagine it's expensive. I'd love a mommy makeover (I had twins and my stomach has never fully recovered so I look fine in clothes but I don't love how I look without) but again, cost and fear. I agree with you, OP, that I don't want to look like some of the women I know, and it makes me wonder if that's how all work ends up making you look because if Kathy Hilton's face looks like pulled and plastic then there must not be a better plastic surgeon anywhere because she could afford anything...

Botox is nothing. If you go conservative and just on your forehead you can be in and out in 20 minutes. Lip filler hurt like crazy though but maybe it’s just me.

The women who look unnatural are doing too many facial fillers instead of just getting a facelift. There are lots of good facelift plastic surgeons out there that give people a natural look but, yes, it would be $$$. I know people go overseas to Turkey for a lot of PS but I personally wouldn’t trust it and have heard too many horror stories.

No, on this board, fear of aging does not equal fear of death. For whatever reason, the posters around here get to middle age and still seem to put a ton of their self worth, identity, and relevance on the state of their face and body.

Anonymous wrote:- No smoking or drinking
- Walking with weights, yoga, breathing exercises
- Castor oil full body massage everyday and sitting in morning sunlight. Fantastic for skin and hair
- Consume at least 2-3 liters of alkaline water every day
- Green and red vegetable juice and probiotics - mainly keffir
- Maintain eye, ear and teeth health
- OMAD fasting for 10 day every 3 months
- Balanced diet, mostly avoid processed foods
- Keep up to date with health checkups and vaccines
- Maintain a vibrant social network. Learn new things. Have a happy family. Remain connected.

This is huge - I can tell which of my friends smoked and which few still do. Of course there are a million other factors, but that one will mess with your face almost more than anything else.

Drinking as well I guess? The only person I know who actually smokes drinks a lot as well so I suppose it's hard to tell which one is causing what, but I think of smoking affecting your face and drinking affecting your body but I could be wrong.

Before doing any of the “higher commitment” plastic surgeries, have you tried just regular old Botox and facial fillers?

Is there a face tanner that does anything close to this?

Not quite sure what you’re asking. You don’t need a “face tanner.” Get a regular ol medium coverage liquid foundation. Foundation recs are so personal and it’s going to depend heavily on your skin type and what type of coverage you prefer. But something like Makeup Forever HD Skin could be good. You can always go to Sephora and try a few on the back of your hand to see what they “wear” like.

I use a cream blush and bronzer (Dibs beauty desert island duo) and the Anastasia brow pencil to fill in my brows.

Foundation is frankly not a good look on mature skin. I think the less makeup you wear as you age, the better.

I love the Laura Geller powder foundations. They go on lightly but they're mixed colors so they make your skin look uniform very easily without being heavy at all. I can't stand liquid foundations, they feel like cement on my face.

I like the Coco and Eve face tanner. I use it at night very lightly and it alleviates the needs for a daily foundation because it provides a light, even color. I find it easier but I'm very, very lazy.

Other than that, here's what I do:

- Healthy diet, I find I need high protein + high fat
- Workout every day
- No alcohol, caffeine, no late nights never and in bed by 8:30pm, no screens in the evening (messes up sleep)
- Botox every 12 weeks, make sure they do the lower face, NOT just the forehead/eyes (it is very difficult to find an injector to understands how to shape the face with Botox rather than just freeze everything but well worth it)
- See an EXPERT for fillers, NOT your regular Botox injector. Filler is extremely easy to mess up, worth the money to see one of the top injectors.
- Figure out what makeup looks best on you. Get lash extensions, brow tinting, lip blushing, etc.
- work with a voice coach (I did this for my deeper voice, worked wonders)
- Just started Rogaine
- Currently saving up for a facelift, rhinoplasty, and a tummy tuck. Again, don't see any random surgeon, find the best of the best. Tummy tucks are especially tricky because most surgeons don't actually 'shape' the waist because it takes much longer, they just remove the skin. You want someone to shape it.

I still look my age, but a much better version of it. I get complimented regularly on how good I look and often date men 10 years younger than me.

There it is.

Honestly, I do want to look good for my husband but he loves how I look and all of the above sounds exhausting! I suppose if I were dating I'd feel different about it.

Honestly, you just work more gratitude into your life. I've had cancer (thankfully curable) and I feel lucky to be alive, even if I look bad. A close family member is only 50 and just received a terminal cancer diagnosis. You aren't promised tomorrow. Live your life.

I started oral minoxidil for my hair thinning, which worked amazingly. My face is gaunt too, so I have a consult for a mini face lift in a few weeks. I’ve done Botox for years and have tried Sculptra and fillers.

It really IS true that letting yourself age naturally truly is the best way.

I mean, sure…..Black + Asian people tend to age slower/better but everyone can age gracefully if they truly care for themselves properly.

I would advise:

• No drugs/alcohol/smoking ANYthing
• Sunscreen, sunscreen…..did I mention sunscreen??!
• 7-9 hrs. of nightly, uninterrupted slumber
• Healthy, balanced diet.
Lots of greens & H2O too
• Daily exercise
• Minimal stress

Also any person can look young if they are genuinely happy, carefree ➕ smile often.
A great sense of humor can take years off!
