Oy vey. Extra water doesn’t miraculously give you great skin no more than it can make anyone ugly pretty. Being born pretty (genetics) and youth make you pretty … followed by eating well, access to dermatologist and plastic surgeon, and of course photo filters make you pretty.

Please.

Same for WFH do-nothings on Zooms and SAHMs who just drive around all day and shop. People are sheep.

I think it's hysterical that people think it's performative. WTF? Now you hate water bottles? Are you completely irrational?

Good lord.

Didn’t 50 cent make billions investing in water?

Even in hindsight, OP, you have no vision.

I just use one with a cover that keeps it cool and if I knock it over there’s not a total mess. Nothing very big and maybe I refill it after lunch or not.

I still want to know where OP is going where they are constantly supplied with free water.

Back in the day I was thirsty quite a bit because all we had were these water fountains that barely pumped water out of their spouts. I am so thankful to finally be able to drink as much water as I want without standing in line and having someone yell, “Leave some water for the fish” when it is finally my turn to drink from the fountain.

l

They drink coffee and tea all day, taking frequent breaks

In Europe at least they invest in public infrastructure so there are numerous high quality water fountains usually in close walking distance and fewer transients to mistreat them

There definitely aren't water fountains all over Europe.

I use water as a distraction during meetings. When my colleague says something stupid I take a drink so I don't roll my eyes.

More processed food so more constipation, increasing need for water.

More women are into skincare and makeup so they want their skin to be healthy from inside and out.

Global warming, specifically in crowded cities and necessity of cutting down on plastic for sustainability and health, played a role as well.

More people are on medications than ever and many of those cause dryness. Also more people do their 10k steps so more hydration needed. Obviously, fans, air conditioning and all sort of sprays also increase need of hydration. That and people are more aware and want to look aware of importance of drinking water, instead of drinking alcohol and sugary drinks.
