This isn’t rocket science. Your kid should have been involved in activities from elementary school. What did they do after school and on weekends?

If they aren’t involved in anything (like a sport, club, musical instruments) they need to get a job and volunteer which are respected activities. Go on College Vine where they talk about different activities and the tiers (how they are viewed/scored by college admissions).
