Ditto, except my hair is brown. I'm 41 and I'm considering embracing the grey as the greys come in, but I also want to try at home color. I don't have the budget or the time for regular salon trips.

I think there's a difference between going grey in your thirties and your fifties. I know some younger women embrace it, and good for them, but it's understandable not to want to show your grays in your thirties or even forties. You want to look the same age as your peers. That's normal.

+1 My colleagues in their 70s who look youthful all color their hair.
Age discrimination is real, especially for women. I and 55 and would like to work another 5-7 years. I’m worried about what would happen if I had to look for a new job.

My neighbor just stopped dying hers and it’s a lovely gray - her hair looks so much healthier and shiny.
