I don't admire it, it's gross. Entitled rich kids paying poor kids to get what they want?

But this does happen at other schools. Wasn't there a thread about Michigan this year?

Paying for upgraded housing selection (via upperclassmen swapping/selling timeslots) happens at my kid's ivy. I was shocked when I saw it mentioned on parent Facebook page, so asked my kid, and they confirmed it happens. Kids all get decent housing but some kids have preferences for specific dorms/suites...and willing to pay for it. On the one hand, it's awful. But then again, I admire the entrepreneurship?

The recent slew of anti-Pomona posts seem like a person not people (similar to U Richmond a while back, which Jeff confirmed was the same person posting, boosting, sock-puppet if, etc, and eventually got blocked).

I’m surprised how much people complain about the Claremont colleges, and especially Pomona here. They have problems, but most of the ones here are overstated or boring.

The same is true at many older colleges. And even in renovated dorms at large universities, sometimes the A/C doesn't work well.
