This is so disgusting but I am not terribly surprised. Now I know that I need to put all the comforters in the washing machine when I first arrive to any rental.
this is not surprising to me at all. The last rental I went to in Rehoboth, I could tell that some teen girl laid on the bed with that Brazilian bum cream. It smelled awful. I have never thought that a rental washes comforters between guests. I'm actually surprised that they get washed 1-2x a month. I doubt many of them would even fit in the washer, and if there are 4-5 bedrooms that would take hours. There is no way a cleaning team who only works at most 3 days a week is spending hours at one house. I throw those things on the floor immediately and wouldn't let anyone in my family sleep with them on the bed.
For ours, part of turning over the house is to bring all of that to a laundromat. We don't actually want it done in the house in reegulatr washer/dryers so have them drop off and pick up at the laundromat. There are a bunch, which some might not exoect in an affluent area but I think others are doing the same thing.

Have no fear; the cleaners said they’ll replace duvet covers.
So I’m buying two sets of sheets, two sets of duvet covers, and one set of duvets.
Bed bug cases for mattresses, pillows, and duvets. Plus mattress pads that can be washed as needed. I’ll get an extra of each size to have on hand.
Two sets of towels.
The cleaner will drop off/pick up all of the linens to be laundered, saving lots of time on turnover day.

Gross wash the duvet too.

They should.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:All you people think hotel blankets are washed every time? Look at the linen carts they’re pushing. Do you see blankets?
Duvet covers on washable bedding is what I see these days, but I’m sure those blankets aren’t washed every time.
Also, if your cleaning team is short on time, they may not wash the blankets every time either.
Hotels don't usually have blankets. Maybe sometimes they'll have one in the closet, and I would never use that. But I think you can at least trust that all the sheets and towels at a hotel are washed thoroughly because they have huge laundry rooms with tons of machines specifically for that purpose, and their housekeeping is working nonstop throughout the day. It's not like a house rental where the cleaning person needs to wash 8 sets of sheets and 40 towels in one hour.

Vacation rentals in places where you have to accept cleaners that won't clean.
I pick hotels. At least what they wsah gets washed in laundry or by service.
