Not sure what the issue is with the photo. Lived in Arlington for most of the 80s. Nice place then, now not so much.

So you don’t live in Arlington now but are making a bunch of pronouncements about it? GFY

+1. They liked it when everything was named after Lee, and it was mostly white hillbillies and low paid government workers living in shacks. Pure copium that they can’t afford it anymore.

The DMV as a whole is lame and if you had real money you’d be living somewhere nice like La Jolla, Malibu, Scarsdale, or Montclair. People who are snobby about living in some lame place like Arlington, next to a second rate city like DC, are the worst.

Turns out the alleged rapist was an illegal who had 25 prior charges over six years:

Arlington is super-soft on crime. Parisa seems to believe that people will self-reform, so no need to put them in jail.

You know who could hold people accountable? Our justice system. But they don’t. The people who commit crimes are not held accountable. They are regularly released and continue to repeatedly commit crimes. This isn’t about the parents, it’s about the prosecutors and judges.

Anonymous wrote:I grew up in Arlington, went to Wakefield at the tail end of the village feeling. Fair Housing drove out a lot of people in the late 60s and 70s. People and neighbors still knew each other. Now nobody does, it's all very anonymous with drifter professionals coming and going. Vietnamese settlements opened up businesses in the Clarendon area (it was called Little Saigon). Then the orange line wiped it away with higher rents and they moved further out into the sticks at Eden Center. I-66 added to the highway-fication of Arlington. Rosslyn actually was decently scaled and walkable. Now it's a corporate hellscape. Actually, much of NOVA has become a corporate hellscape. Yorktown and WL were actually pretty good schools. Wakefield was on the downward spiral. Now they are all on the downward spiral.

What are you talking about? My kids recently graduated from WL and received a top notch education, had great extra curricular experiences, and were accepted into incredibly competetive colleges. Clearly, you don’t have a clue.

I am at a loss to understand why OP started this thread. You don’t like Arlington? OK, live somewhere else. Why do you feel the need to try to convince others not to live in Arlington? Very odd. Are you hoping to convince others not to live in Arlington so property values go down and you have a chance to move in?

Even North Arlington is feeling the crime wave. A man tried to steal Crisp and Juicy sausages last week. 🌭

Surprised this isn't getting more attention. But maybe I shouldn't be, because it doesn't fit into Arlington's narrative of protecting illegals.

I can't believe how many people support crime around here.

You’re free to move to a sundown town in central VA if brutalizing minorities for petty crime is your preferred style of justice. I’ll just warn you - the schools and amenities tend to be garbage, as are the people. Whew and the commute as well!

You live in a very strange bubble that's not reality.

The very strange bubble I live in is called Arlington, the topic of this thread. Agree it’s out there sometimes, but I don’t know, seems like I might know more about what it’s like to live here than someone in Stafford who saw something about illegals on WJLA.
