i'd vote for anyone whose first priority is to bring in new major businesses, then reduce taxes and not turr my sf neighborhood into a bunch of favelas for illegals.

CE is also responsible for being the face of the county on a statewide level & maintaining positive relationships with members of MoCo’s state legislative delegation, for example. Relationships with other electeds also matter. Something to keep in mind.

True, but I’d prefer that they prioritize county resident concerns. No reason that they can’t do both, though.

I want to see some different ideas, some tension, and some compromise. The groupthink and go along get along culture in Rockville hasn’t been helpful. Too many bills get introduced with five or more co-sponsors. That means they’re products of backroom deals. We shouldn’t have an executive who values collegiality over diversity of ideas.

This is an interesting point. I will say that amendment votes, which take place before the bills themselves are voted on, are often more contentious. There do appear to be different ideological factions of the council on many issues.

MoCo's "affordable housing" has become too generous, and we're importing a ton of poverty from places like DC. This just increases demand for other services from the poor people who move here. The madness needs to stop. I'm not sure which candidate will put their foot down, but if people really are angry about tax increases, this is where we need to look first.
