+1 Growing up I was crazy for my mom's lasagna. It was my birthday food choice every year. My kids will only eat it reluctantly.

Since I'm sure you have already heard of tacos, pizza and spaghetti I'll share our next three favorites.

Carne asada, fries and a green salad
Turkey chili with cornbread or tortilla chips

DH is the crepe maker in our house, but he has it down to a system. My kids eat 4-5 each and usually have relatively small appetites. So it is a big production for the 5 of us. We usually do a mix of savory and sweet crepes. Sometimes for a birthday dinner, we will just do the sweet crepes (fillings of fruit, honey, nutella, peanut butter, etc. Maybe we will get creative with cream cheese or sauteed apples in butter and cinnamon sugar). Everyone makes their own variations. For savory crepes it's usually honestly a leftover use-up - ham, cheese, egg, spinach, mushrooms, bacon, sausage- basically anything you'd throw in a quiche may end up as a filling.

I also contributed my family's top three (but then when someone mentioned crepes- I realized that's everyone's #1) and I also find this thread fascinating. I didn't think the pp was being disdainful by saying there were things her family wouldn't touch - I agree! But I also wouldn't be surprised if someone else's kids turned their noses up at my kids' favorites. Favorite dinners are kind of an initimate unique thing in each household.

All of my kids have strong opinions, one is vegan, one is vegetarian, one is super picky and has food allergies, one really loves meat, one loves spice . . . .

If I had to pick the top 3 choices that everyone likes I would say:

Bowls with brown rice with either teriyaki salmon and tofu, or lemongrass chicken and tofu, plus veggies.

Homemade pizza with choice of toppings, plus caesar salad with vegan caesar dressing, and chickpeas with crouton flavors.

Hot dogs and burgers (veggie and meat) with buns and grilled veggies and grilled corn.

1) Any kind of slow cooked meat whether it's pulled pork, Mississippi pot roast, etc.
2) Creamy pasta dishes or Asian noodles
3) Salmon

I contributed beans and rice, which is generally considered poor people’s food. Not exactly a play for superiority.

Do you have a favorite recipe for the egg? The one time I tried ramen eggs at home (don't recall the recipe source) the egg wasn't that good.
