I'm Gen X (53, middle of the range) so I tend to date other X'ers and the occasional older millennial. The guys who are in their upper 50's feel old to me. A lot of them seem more like boomers, with boomer taste in music and movies and books and sometimes some outdated ideas about women. I'm also wary of dating someone who's already retired because I have to work for another 10 years and would resent someone who doesn't have to work while I still do.

I've met interesting men well into their 60s, so as a 45 year old, such an age range doesn't bother me in the least.

I’m 53 and I won’t date someone over 60. I have dated a couple of guys in their mid-late 30s simply because they were very fit and a woman has her needs. Plus or minus five years is ideal.

Men do age pretty fast in their late 60s. 55 is still prime for men. My late 50s, fit white collar professional BF describes sex w me as mind blowing. I am 55. I’d avoid anyone over 63 at this point unless they wanted to make me wealthy to offset the caretaking.

When I was in my 20s I would read newspaper articles about guys in their 30s and think they were old. In my 30s I would never have considered a 55 year old, they were ancient to me. Those 50 year olds to 60 year olds are kidding themselves if they think women under 40 are interested.

I agree with the people who say that attractive women in their 40s are still in great demand. If you're an exceptionally attractive woman and in your 50s, you're also going to have great options. Unfortunately a lot of women start to look haggard and even slightly masculine in their 50s.
