I love Tide - but original, no extras - no added "touch of Downy" scent or added OxiClean, just plain old original Tide liquid. I don't like the pods - too strong and sometimes they don't dissolve. I do add powder OxiClean when I have a particularly dirty load. You can use the OxiClean with colors or whites.

I don't find the scent at all overwhelming, but I do feel like our laundry has a subtle fresh scent.

For the person struggling with their towels...I was told years ago never to use dryer sheets with towels. Apparently, it ruins their absorbency. Perhaps that has something to do with you having trouble with them not lasting.

Well that was quite the rabbit hole. People are really putting in the work but also it's kind of a cult.

I was a Persil fan but they changed their scent formula 6 months-1 year ago and no I can’t stand it. I’ve switched to regular Tide.

I used to love the detergent “Wisk” because it was super effective at removing stains but it no longer exists. 😠

So now I either use Tide or Perosol.

All Free and Clear here, because my kid has very bad eczema, and this seems to help a bit.

Favorite is tide free and clear, using Lysol sanitizing free and clear in every load. Clorox 2 if stains.
For hand wash, I use soak.
For wool, I use kookaburra.

Me too! And so hard to get out of the clothing. I buy thrift stuff and vintage pieces, and I get so frustrated when I have to wash 1000 times to get detergent smell out.

Use unscented liquid and add a few drops of essential oils in before putting in washer
