This is a very deep cut but Tom and Bilanna on Star Trek voyager. He is the goofy comic book aficionado son of an admiral who was a screw up disappointment to his family. She was the half Klingon raised by her human grandparen and bullied by kids for being different who is super smart and capable but super angry at everyone. They get stuck millions of light years from home. It’s a very very sweet love story in which they have realistic fights but ultimately bring out the best in each other.

I never liked th Josh and Donna pairing. Hrs so condescending to her for like a million seasons but we’re supposed to believe he suddenly sees her great intelligence? More like he’s spent a decade obsessed with work, is losing his hair, hasn’t actually saved any money from his government job, and is worried about getting left on the shelf. Donna I lookooove you! And I’m a huge Bradley whitford fan. Somehow he’s much hotter as a silver fox. Like Ted danson.

A 10-episode A Different World sequel series is in production for Netflix, with filming starting in Atlanta in February 2026. Bell return in recurring roles, with Debbie Allen directing and executive producing.
