I mean is it a bunch of people leaving after 8th grade? Trinity, Riverdale, boarding school, etc. have always been popular with girls from all girls schools who want something new and bigger for high school.

I don't think this is true. I saw Regis has two into MIT already.
It’s true they send kids to MIT but not every year whereas public schools like study and bronx science send consistently multiple kids. That I find impressive

Neither has Dalton. Both schools post in the spring if you look at last year’s accounts.
HM doesn’t even allow these accounts. HM’s college placements have gone down the drain - I remember they used to do crazy well and their placements at ivies basically tanked which caused an uproar.
A few years ago they sent a ridiculous number of kids to Chicago. Which is a very good school. But it just seemed odd. If you thought you were getting Ivy and you got Chicago you probably aren't thrilled. If it is second tier kids getting Chicago then it is much more OK.
HM has an account - it just doesn’t have any references to the school. 11/62 posted so far are going to Chicago. I think that’s great, but I’m not Ivy or bust.
Chicago is a great school but not sure if I would want to be going to college with that many HS classmates - it is not that big of a place. It is a bit odd how many kids they are sending there. Obviously, it's not like they are sending all these kids to an awful school, but just odd. Obviously if this was Harvard or Yale I would feel slightly differently.
What is the account?

Harvard 5, Yale 3, Princeton 2, Penn 2, Brown 2, Cornell 2, Columbia 1, Chicago 3, Duke 1, Williams 1, Swarthmore 1, Oberlin 1, NYU 1, Wesleyan 1
Very impressive! The idea that they are slipping is insane. It’s weird how many people on this forum have this bizarre agenda to smear the school’s reputation. Spence, Chapin, and yes, Brearley are all great schools. As are the many others in the city. None are perfect and year to year you’ll have kids with different interests and priorities which will result in variation in college placements but by and large these stats are super strong for a school the size of Brearley
LOL, I don’t know if there are “many people” here…it’s probably the same poster from the other thread…same style, grammar etc. She seems to be really upset about the school.
