YES, but for non-engineering categories, UVA trumps VT:

UVA no 3-4 Best Public; VT is 21
UVA no 21 best university in America. VT is 51

So if there’s any chance your engineering student might want to change majors (and 80% of them do at least once), you want to be at UVA. My aerospace engineering kid did exactly this. Now at a top law school.


Annnnnd, s/he's back....... once again: my VT engineering student decided to switch to a liberal arts degree at VT and had no issues. They *did not want* to be at UVA, and in fact, there was zero reason for them to be there. Please stop posting the same nonsense on every thread.
