I am going to GUESS on time.
I'm going to guess a delay to make sure bus drivers feel safe picking up middle schoolers. With the melting today there will be black ice and kids waiting on dark roads before 6 am when its still dark.
They could have solved that problem already with a delayed middle school start time.
I agree there should be a delay for the pedestrians to be safe, who you can't see behind the ice banks.
So the elementary schoolers could be the ones out walking to school or the bus on the ice before daybreak?
The core issue is the snow makes it unsafe to go in the dark and FCPS needs to reuse buses.
We are one of the earliest starting ES and it’s light out an hour before school starts.
They can’t ONLY delay MS though, because ES bus runs would still be taking place.

I'm the PP who suggested that it could be because moving them back one hour could put buses into the heart of rush hour, so 2-hour delays are used to help with that.
